Jiffy grew up in the desolate region of the Thorung Pass region in Nepal's northern most province. His family etched a meager existence raising yak spinning wool terrace farming millet and cutting wood. Jiffy is a skilled wood worker and excellent carved. He frequently carves animal figurines.
Jiffy like many young men wanted more. He traveled 6 days to the recruiting test. This he took 3 times before he was selected.
Jiffy is about 25 as birthdays and the concept is alien to him.
He has been with the Gurkha Regiment for two years before the wars start and participated in almost every action his unit has taken part in until the last several months. He was hospitalized with an infection and ultimately left behind when his unit moved on. He has no idea where they are at present and it is a source if anxiety on his part.
Jiffy is not his real name. That is the name the Sgts gave him or so he thinks as they were always calling him. He failed to understand they were just telling him to move faster. He will introduce himself as, "I Jiffy Quick!"
Jiffy is cheerful, enthusiastic and eager. He will often do the traditional British stomp and yell "Saah" as he pops to attention when given an order. This applies even to orders he does not fully understand as his English is marginal. But Jiffy will smile and nod and do his duty as he sees fit.
He can barely read or write. He can't drive a vehicle. But he is a solid rifleman and Scout. And he has decent fieldcraft often foraging for millet or other grains that he crushes with a piece of hardwood in a metal pot to make a primitive porridge or even cakes he roasts on a rock.
Jiffy stands about 5 feet 2 inches and is a sturdy build with a large chest like most people of his region.
Two of his most prized posessions are his khukri and his brimed hat. However he will normally wear his issued Kevlar helmet or boonie hat.
