Markos Greene

Name: Markos (Mark) Greene
Age: Appears to be in his mid-30s(Real age is over 4k+ years)
Species: Dragon hiding as a human
Gender: Male
Occupation: Doctor, semi-retired. Father, full time.
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual

Appearance: Mark had the classical features of a handsome Greek man, blond hair spiked and swept back and green eyes that could turn stormy at a moment's notice. Aquiline nose, angled cheek and chin covered by a fashionable and messy beard and mustache. He stood just over 6 feet in height with the build of a fit swimmer and the stride of a predator waiting on its prey. Normally, if he was working, he would wear a suit. Oddly enough he enjoyed ties that were not the norm. Some of them had smiley faces on them, others based off comic books, odd mythical creatures. Non-work wear leaned towards well worn jeans and shirts with funny and/or sarcastic sayings on them. There is a faint scar that runs along the left side of his neck, throat and down his shoulder but its mostly hidden.

Personality:

Like his tastes in ties and t-shirts, he was playful. Though right now he was still trying to get pass the stress and mental problems of contending with a fight he could not win in this era. He needed to rest, to relax and regain his love of helping others because it had been almost ground out of him by the wheel of progress and greed. On his good days he was all smiles, a outright flirt and tease. On the bad days, quiet and tired, sarcastic and hurtful. He would snap first and regret after. In the end he is loyal to one thing right now, his little girl whom he's raised from a baby.

Elizabeth(Beth) Greene was like any child, curious and timid at the same time. Around new people she would hide behind her father's leg and clutch on to it. From the way Mark reacted, this was far too normal a reaction to be anything too odd. And it was apparent she adored her father. It was hard for anyone to not smile when she laughed, as infectious as a child's laughter was. Beth was only 4 years old, a babbler when she was comfortable around people. And it was so obvious that Mark adored the little girl. She had jet black hair and pale blue eyes and looked nothing like her father

Being a doctor, he had that air about him. For children, they tended to flock to him as if they knew he would protect them. And it was obvious that his adoration for his daughter was spread to all children. As for adults, being what he was, he had a dominate personality and a sharp tongue if need be. He was all alpha when it was his field of expertise, and that encompassed many things.

All in all its in his very nature to help others if they are in need and not something he can ignore, not after years of doing just that. Still the break was welcomed and the new home even more welcomed.

History
Present:
Mark had been a doctor far longer than he had ever wished to be at this point. The way the hospitals were run, more about money than helping those in need. The frustration that he couldn't help everyone that came through the ER doors because of lack of money. The utter stupidity of some of the newer doctors ignoring what the patient said in favor of pulling some sort of diagnosis out of their asses. And it wasn't always that way. He also had been at his job far too long and people were starting to comment on his ageless face.

Education wise, he as doctorate degrees in medicine, leaning towards Pediatrician, Emergency and Critical Care. He's always learning and taking classes through the years just to keep up with the non-magical side of medicine.

Past:

To put it simply, he once was a being of immense power, a primal being of chaos and death. A destroyer who brought evil into the universe, created darkness, bringer of death. And there was his sister, his opposite. Bringer of life, of order and light. Two halves of a whole. The pair bound eternally into a fight neither could win though in the end his sister managed just that. She bound him into mortal form though because of what he was, that form was long lived. And time and time again he broke free through the ages of the universe, bringing destruction and death.

Finally though, he was bound into his most current form, gifted with empathy and the knowledge of knowing how others felt. That brought him down hard and for millennia he laid in hibernation, unable to walk about as he once did. Eventually he crawled out of his hole, clawing his way out of the earth to find it filled with begins of wonder. Not knowing, he took the form of one to hide what he was so he could watch. These humans were a miasma of so many things, fear, hate, love and everything imaginable.

And then there was the others, the ones that came after him. He avoided them out of pure contempt for what they were. A lesser being than he once was. But as he came to accept the empathy, new things happened that he did not expect. A small child, sick and weak, left in the middle of a barren field. The need and pain more than he could accept so he had to stop it. The small child clinging to him, the young girl that followed him and loved him, a new emotion he had never experienced. The woman that adored him even if he was not her father. So many new experiences for a being that had once destroyed things. And age came, death came to her and he felt a new emotion.

And throughout the ages, there was always a new one. A new child in need that he nurtured and raised when they had been abandoned. A lure he couldn't resist. It started with that child but he devoted his time and knowledge to helping others after the first. From that came medicine and it grew till the modern age brought about doctors. He spent his time there as just a part of the machine, relearning every time he moved on.

Now he was sick, weary and tired of being prevented from helping those in most need of his skills. A break was needed and it was hard to miss the advertisement that appealed to him and his newest young charge. So he arrived as a single father to a tiny, dark haired child with pale blue eyes.

Powers:

Shape shifting though his favored form is Human. He has no limits on what form he can take. Empathy as a healing ability and telepathy, being able to pick up surface thoughts helps him heal others. Sadly he has a photographic memory, can recall at any time, his past. He has a hard time not reading people literally though he tries to avoid that at all costs. That's hard when surface thoughts are like a radio that goes in and out of signal. On the flip side, those with logical minds or natural/unnatural ways of shielding are totally blank to him. For him to even get anything surface or otherwise, they would have to open up to him, let him through their shields.

He has minor magical skills, can make light, his shape shifting ability is magical in nature. As the dragon, dragonfire is imbued with magic but in that form, the scar he wears shows up as a vulnerability, a vital area of his neck that could kill him if it were pierced by any means. So he avoids that even if as the dragon, he can do a lot more damage. But anyone with a good aim and a gun could take him down with one or two shots.

In the beginning...

Mark brought the SUV to a stop before the house built into the mountain and looked at it. It had been some weird guy's home before he had died. It worked for him because it did go into the mountain far enough that he could dig deeper and carve out his lair. He glanced over at the passenger seat to check on Beth. The little girl had fallen asleep some hours ago after they had stopped for lunch and she was so totally out of it. That made him smile because she had been so sick before that sleep had been hard to come by because of the pain.

He turned the key to shut off the vehicle and pocketed it before reaching over to stroke the back of his fingers over her cheek. "Beth, wake up baby. We are here."

The man watched as the little girl twitched and then yawned before opening her eyes and looking around in confusion. Seeing him though had her smiling and he returned that with his own. He reached down and hit the switch, unbuckling the seat belt then opening the door and getting out. A quick walk around to the passenger side and he helped Beth out of the seat, lifting her up in his arm and turning towards the house.

"See baby, that's our new home," he said and pointed to the sleepy little girl.

Beth turned her head and blinked and then leaned over to rest her head on his shoulder. "Casn I hafe a roo' painted with bloof?" She had a terrible lisp right now with one of her front teeth gone. It had recently fallen out and she had a shiny gold coin for it. Not that she understood the value right now but in the future...

He laughed and hugged her. "Already done baby. Your daddy knew you would want it like that. Its even set up for you. That's why daddy left you with Auntie Melia." Beth just nodded and he started walking towards the house.

Pulling his keys out, he unlocked the front door and then opened it, entering into the house that a month ago was dirty and dusty. Now it was pristine but still smelled faintly of new paint. The entry way was open, to his left a living room with a large TV already there on a stand. Their favorite worn sofa before a equally worn coffee table and matching end tables. He flipped the switch to turn on the lights and then entered into the kitchen and tossed the keys on the table.

"So do you want to see your room first then we go find somewhere to eat or I can try and make your favorite grilled cheese?" He was looking slowly around the kitchen and smiling because this was exactly what they needed. Or so he thought at least.

"Roo'," she said and and that got a chuckle from him.

"Alright," he said and moved towards the hallway then opened a door on the left that had a small bed in it, the walls painted a light blue and all her stuffed animals laying around. He had re-set up her room for her and she looked around when he walked in. "Does this meet m'lady's preferences?"

"Yes," Beth said and he grinned and hugged her.
