Le Retour: An (Anti-)Colonial Gothic Game
(Starting late 2021)Colonial Gothic is historical roleplaying during the 18th Century settlement of North America. Players take the role of everyday residents, settlers and indigenous peoples, confronted with paranormal goings on alongside the tumultuous events of the time.
While the game books are available in PDF for a reasonable price, its not necessary to own the books to play. The game mechanics are simple and easy to learn. Well be leaving aside most of what is in the CG source material, since the published game is largely centred on the American Revolution, while our adventure is happening some decades earlier and further north, in Le Canadathe region of Nouvelle France that would become contemporary Quebec.
