Underground Heroes
The world is much like the world today. Life is complicated but here it is more complicated than the world at large knows. For the last 40 years or so, certain individuals have exhibited powers beyond what it considered possible, some straight out of stories, movies or comic books. Certain forces, both corporate and governmental have ensured that such truth does not become commonly known.These Enhanced or Gifted (mutant is fairly derogatory term akin to freak really) keep themselves hidden because, even if the government or corporations didn't hide them (and they ALWAYS seem to), people would respond to them as humanity always has more often than not. Fear and hatred; maybe not in everyone but more than enough to justify their fear.
The Enhanced have two choices. The first is to keep their abilities hidden and avoid detection which gets harder every years as certain groups try to hunt them down. The second is to flee, to run and leave their life behind. Luckily, for those poor people, there is the Underground. Enhanced working together to smuggle and conceal those like them far from prying eyes...
Think of this as a world like Mutant Underground or Tomorrow People or even Agents of Shield and the Inhuman storyline. This is not an X-men game. You're not "mutants" like that. And you look human. There is no "SHIELD" in this world as far as anyone knows, just the Underground (which is also not known). The players, either by choice or forced to, will be joining the Underground to help others in need and sometimes prevent other troubles...
How they choose to handle problems/choices they make will affect which way the game goes.
