Golden Prax II

Welcome to Golden Prax II !

The game system is Runequest: Roleplaying in Glorantha. The setting is Pavis ca 1625, and the player characters will be Lunar empire or Lunar aligned.

Homelands: Lunar Tarsh would be the default, but most if justifiable; details can be worked out with the GM during character generation, but Lunar Tarsh rolls will be used for most characters for their own experience (i.e., a Grazelander would shift from Grazelander to Lunar Tarsh homeland when the background shifts to their own lifetime).

Cults: Seven Mothers and non-hostile cults (no Orlanth).

Notes on Posting and posting rate: I'll try to post at least 3 times a week. I was a player in a previous game where I always thought, come on, GM, what's so hard about posting? Well, sometimes it's hard. Anyway, the more you post the more fun the game is, and character interactions (whether or not they move the plot forward) are an enjoyable part of the role playing experience.
If there's combat, I will try to advance a combat round every day.
I prefer the present tense when describing actions unless there's some strong reason not to.

Note on character interaction: Please be respectful of each other in your posts. I won't really allow PvP or private messaging the GM "Vorgoth steals Brasthos's power crystal while he's sleeping, I made my move silently roll" kind of stuff. I don't think that conflict (or maybe rather tension) on some level between characters is always bad, but please remember there's a human being with feelings on the other end of the communication.

Note on Lore and gameplay: Your humble GM will try to stay consistent with current lore (the Glorantha Sourcebook, new Runequest rule book, Bestiary) but will not pressure himself to know every jot or tiddle written about Prax, Pavis, or Glorantha over the last 40 years. The depth of Glorantha lore is a big part of the joy of the setting, but is also intimidating and the abundance of material makes the Silmarillion seem like the Very Hungry Caterpillar by comparison. At the same time, the players want to participate in a bona fide Glorantha campaign not just some made up home brew, which creates a little tension/pressure on the newbie GM. All that to say, if something is inconsistent with a version of Glorantha you've played in before, please roll with it.

Note on game duration: So one thing you notice about play by post games is that they often die on the vine. My hope is that this campaign will be peppy and brisk and will have a total of, I don't know, 1-2 thousand posts and last maybe a year of real time? Hopefully if the game is not a lifelong commitment, folks can stay engaged through the whole run.
