Sunnydale is on a Hellmouth. Which means it attracts all sorts of supernatural creatures. The town is overrun with vampires. Lots of mysterious deaths.
It's a great time for the forces of darkness in Sunnydale. There's been no Slayer in town since Buffy Summers's tragic death in 2003.
You may be saying "I watched the BTVS show. It didn't end like that."
The game takes place in an alternate universe where the final episode of Buffy ended differently.
Spike's amulet activated, but it not only destroyed the Turok Hans and himself, it destroyed Buffy and all her friends and allies as well, the amulet banished the First from this dimension. And Sunnydale didn't sink into the ground. This happened before Willow cast the Slayer spell, so it's still a one Slayer world.
Sunnydale still stands. The citizens who evacuated came back. And it's back to business as usual. Vampires, mysterious deaths, missing persons. And so it went for four years.
This will be a classic Buffy high school game with a Buffy Season One vibe to it.
