Stolen as a cub, sold to a trader of unique species.  Kassan only escaped one day when his cage fell from wagon and broke open due to a another captured animal a massive bear breaking it bonds and causing chaos in the streets.  While chaos ensued, Kassan fled into the twisting streets of the strange city he found himself in.  Roaming the great city he managed to survive by feral instincts, other orphans and street vagabonds and ultimately the kindness of a local Firbolg blacksmith that he would watch from the shadows.  Awestruck at the shaping of wrought iron into any number of beautiful items, armor and weapons.  Eventually the blacksmith coaxed Kassan from the shadows and shared his knowledge, no words were ever exchanged just a nod and a small smile when Kassan would leave for the day with a bit of food and drink.  As Kassan grew he did not go as often to the smith's, rather he was getting into fights in the streets.  It was one of those day's that Kassan fighting caused a rather large disruption in the city street essentially causing a riot.  When the dust settled, Kassan went to hide at the smith but the smith would not let him stay.  Instead he handed him a greataxe and a small amount of gold and guided him out of the city.  With a warning that he was not to come back, some very powerful people's business had been disrupted and they would not be happy with a little rough up.  Kassan left further indebted to the man.  The wilds have turned Kassan into great warrior as he now searches for a new home and a way to pay the kind Furbolg back.

Standing seven feet tall and just over three hundred pounds, Kassan is corded muscle and razor sharp claws.  His fur is a deep yellow straw color, his large flowing main deep deep read, with braids strewn throughout with trinkets attached from significant battles.  He wears no armor rather then possibly one of the largest bear hides with head that anyone has ever seen.  His clothing consist of a plain black kilt.
