DnD 5E-The Fading Sun
The Summer Solstice is a time of celebration in the world of Arakos. People from every corner of the known lands gather to give thanks to Tlan, the Great Sun where the gods are thought to dwell, and whose golden rays grant light and warmth to the mortal children on the world below. Festivals are held in every village and city, but nowhere is the Solstice celebrated with such splendor as in Felanon---the seat of the High King and Queen of all Arakos.

Felanon's celebration was rumored to be especially grand this year, as a fleet of ships had recently returned to Felanon's harbor from an expedition into unknown waters. They supposedly brought with them a wondrous relic, and gossip had spread that High King Edegaar and High Queen Bavora would dedicate the relic to the gods.

Alas, while traveling through the Veriwen Plains, one of the caravan's wagons broke an axle and needed repair. Your caravan was but a day away by wagon, but three on foot. Rather than split the group, the caravan tried to repair the axle quickly and get back on the road.

During repairs, a strange beam of light shot into the sky from the direction of Felanon, followed by the sound of a thousand thunderclaps. The beam streaked toward Tlan, and then the world began to darken...
