On the short side for a Dwarf at 4'3", Ysgard is still stout with a modest amount of musculature. His clothing looks to be made up of pieces from several different styles from throughout the land and all are quite colorful. With his long, black hair tied back and braided one can see his well-worn pack and traveling gear have been put through their throes on the road for many a year.

Most notably is his long, dark beard. While some dwarves will set precious metals and stones in them for decoration, his is laden with carved wooden beads - so much so that it sounds a bit like rain when he moves his head. When some control is needed he will tie all of it together at the end to keep the noise down. But the beads make for a nice addition to musical performances when he could be playing any of several instruments, practicing throat-singing, or working on storytelling.

While well mannered, he talks like an old person and sometimes cannot help but make sarcastic remarks when the opportunity presents itself.
