Scott 'Kodiak' Kowalski is a New Navy mustang, having served as a Warrant Officer both on the standing bridge watches and in naval intelligence before being minted as special forces forward investigator. He's a specialist in handling the least mundane threats that a New Navy warship might face - D-Bees, mages and rogue psychics - but he's a scalpel not a machete, and his placement is often understated if not undercover.

Rugged and hirsute, Kowalski is atypical of the lean and muscular image of a Sea Titan, though his bearing is crisp and navy-sharp when on duty. Off, he cuts loose more than most, emboldened by his stature and resistence to far too many things. Coming up from the ranks, he has a healthy disrespect for martinets but the smarts to keep it under a lid and the abilities to encourage folks to look the other way
