His four tentacles, make his lower face resemble a beard, and with their brown and black mottled color, it really does look like a long beard.

His personality is that of a friendly southern mechanic, and he's deceptively low key in his intelligence, often being mistaken for a country bumpkin due to the way he talks, but then surprising people with his technical and scientific knowledge.
