Personality
People reguard him as a computer nerd and he finds it difficult to make friends. He likes helping people with their computer problems but it never gets beyond that.

History
His parents work in London as bankers, they sent Alan to a top all male private school. Here he did well and found he had a natural tallent for mathematics. He did not fit in well with other boys at school, in fact he was bullied. He did not like football nor was he keen on getting drunk in the local pub.

His interests were in maths and online gaming. Here he found friends he could talk to honestly. His D&D character Forkbeard the dwarf often teams up with an elf Treeleaf in play and they often share their problems OOC.

His parents were concerned about his poor social skills so although he has a place at Cambridge to read Mathematics they decided he might get a better experience on this cruise ship.
