Falin, son of Bundol, is a dwarf of the Lonely Mountain.  Brown-haired, with keen blue eyes, and most often dressed in worn leather and warm wool, one might ask how this stained traveller finds himself in the court of King Ellesar Telcontar.  But Falin is a trusted emmisary and messenger of Dain II, King under the Mountain, and is long-practiced in walking the long, and still-often dangerous road between the two courts.

Though not of high birth, Falin is of good character, keen wit, and great endurance.  Skilled with axe and bow, fleet of foot (for a Dwarf, some would say), he can travel alone or in company.  He finds himself at Minas Tirith bearing a message from the North, just in time to see a band of Rohirrim bring a bound captive before the King . . . .
