Century Station (Heroes Unlimited).
Project Daedalus was supposed to make Century Station the greatest city the Earth had ever known and solve many of the worlds problems at the same stroke.For a time it did just that. And then the Project turned out to be a con being run by an alien grifter in direct violation of Intergalactic Law.
Space Cop Alpha Prime shut down the whole thing and saw to the confiscation of any illegally acquired alien technology. After that the seemingly invulnerable alien posted herself in the city to make certain it didn't happen again.
Without the support of Project Daedalus the city collapsed into a grimy shadow of it's former glory. Crime, corruption, and unemployment ran rampant and a significant majority of the population lived in utter hopelessness. It seemed as if things could not get any worse...
...Then came Bloody Monday.
An attempt to bring law an order by decapitating several of the top Cartels in the city turned into open warfare in the streets when corrupt officials exposed the plan to the crime lords who were targeted.
Hundreds of citizens, first responder, police, and superheroes were killed and the cartels involved came out even stronger than before.
The next five years have been the closest thing to hell in Century Station.
An idealistic and strong willed mayor has risen to challenge the status quo in the city.
A plan, Operation Overlord, has been formulated.
One last chance to prevent the Federal Government from stepping in and declaring martial law.
