Bodie was raised in the middle/working class populous of 'anywhere USA', with a great drive to change the world for better.
Even in junior high, she was a member of the 'young politicals' who rallied and handed out pamphlets and basically made themselves the proverbial squeaky wheel on all manner of agendas and movements.

She followed her mother into the military: serving several tours in Afghanistan, and rising to the rank of First Lieutenant, before being honourably discharged after loosing her left hand in an attack.

She then followed her father into politics: with intelligence and charisma, she forged her own path into politics, and is determined to climb as high as she needs to, to achieve the advances she desires.
Bodie is something of a living mantra: 'Be the change you want in the world'.

This is not to say she is incapable of underhanded tactics and manipulation if she chooses.
This woman is smart, determined, and has a silver tongue.
