Samuel West is a grizzled man in his 40's  His hair is a light brown with a smattering of grey.  His half shaven face seems to be in a permanent scowl.  His gaze is hard.  The wrinkles around his squinting eyes from looking into too many suns.

A former Green Beret and ATF agent, he grew more frustrated as murders and evil people avoided justice through technicalities or money.  When a Mexican drug gang crossed the border and shot up a kids birthday party to send a message to a rival he embraced what he had been feeling for some time.  He was the reincarnation of the Avenger.  Not the comic book type but an Old Testament type that was sent by a vengeful God.
