Raga is a little girl.  Literally little.  Doesn't look very big or old.

She is an orphan; she has no idea who her parents are/were, and has no memory of a life other than on the streets.

She has scrounged for clothing, scrounged for food, scrounged for her very existence.  And scrounging is tough on little kids.  It does things to them (and not good or pretty things).

She is sullen, quiet and non- or anti-social.  She trusts nobody, although she will display varying degrees of distrust to some.

Raga doesn't know anything about anything -- except how to survive, apparently, as she's managed to do that somehow.
