Margarita Lowenstine was an ugly duckling in high school. She was short and dumpy with frizzy "Jew-fro" hair and a less-than-clear complexion. She was a theatre-geek, though relegated to chorus and crew. She was also an avid game player--board, MMORPG, and especially tabletop RPGs. Not many knew that she was also a fanfic writer, contributing dozens of stories to various sites under the pen name Adriana Richards. She was the den mother backstage, always there with a tissue or a safety pin or a soft shoulder to cry on and a word of comfort.

Now 38, she's practically unrecognizable to old friends. She's taller, shapelier, and has tamed her hair and dyed it reddish. She came back to town a few years ago to take care of her aging parents. Her mom has died and her dad's in a memory unit at the nursing home.

Rita hasn't given up on her dreams though, she sends voice demos through her agency and is working on a novel.
