Responsible for organizing the security detail of the Crane clan delegates to Winter Court, Daidoji Hotaru is a busy, serious man. Allegedly somewhere in his mid-twenties, he has the look of someone older, though given that he is both a veteran of the recent War of Silk and Steel and a member of a recently humiliated family, these concerns have given him a few grey hairs.

Hotaru dresses simply for a crane, in blues and whites that are deeper and more subdued than his counterparts. His hair is worn long, and often looser than is fashionable. His daisho is worn on the right side of his hips, implying left-handedness, and his brown eyes are thoughtful and quick.
