Andrax Murkscale

Andrax stands 6'1'ft, slim build, amber-colored eyes that faintly glow, raven black hair with purple tint pair of draconic horns of similar color. Prefers to wear a cape with raven feathers and robe armor made from ashen black leaves. Carrying a gnarled darkwood staff with a glowing emerald gem on the tip. Overall quite exotic as half-elves go thanks to his draconic blood and interest in dragons. He has a powerful, enigmatic yet inspiring aura about him. His voice is powerful, something that draws attention to himself, and thanks to his powerful sorcerous blood his mere presence creates most cases minor magical events whenever he arrives or enters where there are people to witness it.

Adventuring Life

What is known from his past is that he grew up as a street urchin in Dambrath in the town of Guilmarl (born before Dambrath was established but the town of Guilmarl been there before its founding) which bordered the Great Swamp of Rethild. He was mistaken to be a tiefling because of his horns, fangs, and claws, and was considered a freak which everyone avoided.

He was originally adopted and raised by a fisherman who fished for the pearls and then sent Andrax into the waters, adapting surprisingly well to the arts. But the fisherman died and his associates kicked him out so they would not need to share his shack or spoils of Andrax work so he became then pickpocket and scavenger in the town.

Then over the city flew Valraxxath, a black dragon that lived in the center of the great swamp. As everyone was fleeing, Andrax instead felt a calling and admiration for the sight and then a burning desire for power, power of dragons, became all-consuming as well as hatred for being powerless. He then broke into one the very few noble estates which had remained inhabited, stealing a treasure trove of black pearls from the treasury and running off. The noble sent soldiers and bounty hunters after him as he fled deeper into the swamp.

While his pursuers fell to varied dangers of the swamp, Andrax avoided most of them and he collected and used deadly plant pollens for his advantage to shake off a few pursuers who got close to him. But he eventually reached the center of the swamp with ancient ruins where the dragon dwelled, he snuck and swam into his lair and as the dragon came to deal with the intruder, Andrax offered the black pearls to the dragon as a tribute and voiced a desire to become his pupil.

Dragon initially refused, but Andrax proved his usefulness in having a quick mind, cunning, and eventually in a test; with a duel to the death against the lizardman champion who served the dragon, in proving his ruthless nature in using the same poison pollen he had used and without mercy killing the lizardman. Since then black dragon took Andrax in and gave him his draconic name; Andrax.

For over a decade, Andrax worked as an agent, servant, and student of the black dragon. Then once they made a pact with the black dragon they parted ways by amenable terms. Andrax continued his studies, and research around Dambrath for a while, befriending the wood elf tribe dealing with the gnoll tribe led by Glabrezu, and studying ancient secrets from ruins that the demon had guarded and elves taught him. Once done studies, he then departed to the north, and by the circumstance of good timing and being the right place he joined the Order of Light.

The Battle

Besides being a potent battle sorcerer who commands the power of magical words, his powers as a shaman are useful providing support and power of his acid breath which is only matched by true dragons. Also, he is keen on scholarly arts and provides useful insights to any subject albeit his greatest expertise lies in the arcane. He was one front-line battle mages, renown for his resilience and hard brought down against even hordes of enemies which The Walking Man generals commanded and he deftly dealt with hostile magics launched at the group.
