A Land of Promise
Premise:"You're a divine caster with strong faith and convictions, who is a religious refugee fleeing (with only what you can carry) from a powerful, intolerant regime; a passenger in a rickety ship sailing to what is essentially 'Fantasy-version, Just-Founded, Colonial-New-Orleans-Analog, Settlement', there to help it and yourself thrive by being one of the few adventurers the budding colony needs."
I'm seeking players who are very proactive and motivated to do stuff in a semi-sandbox yet with a metaplot sort of game.
This game would have strong themes of exploration and obtaining access to resources and the help of people with special skills, as well as what it means to be given overt magical powers that are greater than most others nearby have, and the effects of using them on the world around you. Expect...
- minimal puzzles
- minimal overarching plot or metaplot (at first, I'll develop it over time, I most definitely have ideas, it just won't be relevant for a while)
- reasonable amounts of downtime
- a character-directed level of pacing
- a low amount of focus on just talking and more a focus on going out and doing things
- strategic combat
- lots of tricky threats to the roughshod, rickety settlement you all now call home!
But with faith in your gods (or yourself, or the spirits around you, or your community and friends, or your ancestors, etc.), lots of magic, and a bit of luck, you might thrive here in this new world.
