Description:  Lysithea appears to be a young woman of otherworldly beauty blessed by the sea.  Her shapely figure is often adorned in a flowing backless dress of diaphanous fabric that scarcely covers her freckly-pale aquamarine skin.  Her hair is made of thin strands of water as blue as the ocean's depths, framing striking azure eyes and smiling features fair enough to tempt the lustful into the sea, never to return.  Not that she would ever do such a thing, of course.

Lysi is friendly, curious, and always interested in new sights and experiences.  She has innate abilities to shape water and air that she is always experimenting with and trying to develop into something greater.  She recalls little of her existence prior to her arrival at the Dreamwhorl Archipelago, except for a vague sense of loss for a vanished ocean that once bore her name.  She tries not to dwell on the past, however, and is always looking forward to improving and enjoying herself.

Background:  Lysithea is an Oceanid, a water nymph daughter of a sea goddess and a personification of a once-great ocean on a forgotten world.  She was mighty once, when water and life were plentiful and the people honored the seas with worship and good stewardship.  Then time passed and the people forgot the Oceanids and no longer cared for the seas, and so her power waned.  In time the sun grew larger and hotter until all the world's life perished and Lysi's ocean shrunk to a sea, to a lake, to a pond, to a puddle.  After the dead world's last drop of water boiled away Lysithea found herself stranded on the margins of the Dreamwhorl Archipelago, weak and lost, with scant memory of herself.  An Oceanid whose ocean was gone forever.

Lysi spent the first years since her arrival in self-exile, living alone in the deeps far from the archipelago's shores, where it was safest.  Over time she has worked on gradually finding herself again, taking joy in discovery and remembering her command over water and air.  It has only been in recent months that she realized she was lonely and took an interest in visiting the beautiful peoples of the archipelago, whom she has long admired from the depths and afar.  She now seeks to make discoveries and share her passions and herself with others, and to finally become a part of this nexus of worlds.  She is working to regain her powers over water and air in hopes that she might one day find a new body of water to personify.
