The first impression many uninitiated individuals have of this creature is that it looks to be the skeleton of a gnome hovering a few feet of the ground, and perhaps made of mithril.  A closer examination, but not to close, reveals that the skeleton is itself inanimate but trapped inside an exactly five foot cube of transparent ooze.  Those who try to investigate even more closely usually find themselves warned away by a telepathic masculine voice that politely informs them that doing so can be hazardous to their health.

One of the most unusual things about encountering a gelatinous cube is that the the first impression is often one of tactile sensation, transparent and often immobile many people walk into its soft and somewhat sticky surface before even realizing it is there.  This particular cube has a more refractive interaction with light in that it seems to take on a greenish hue under most lighting conditions. Even more inexplicable this particular cube is both smaller than the normal kind and seems to take on aspects of personality.
