A human woman of modest size, Diata is a black-haired woman with dark skin and eyes. She is slender and delicate almost to the point of frailty, though a closer examination might show callused hands. Her clothing is mostly composed of a variety of flowing robes, often bleached white or dyed saffron; her feet are sandaled, and she normally accessorizes with a variety of jewelry. In particular, she wears a headdress of cloth-of-gold, a silver torc and an amulet of crystal. In contrast to this finery, her backpack is often stuffed well beyond the point where it ought to burst, and her robe is tricked out with many cunning pouches full of the multifarious tools of her trade. She is rarely without a spear-thrower, whether in hand or in her belt.

Diata normally walks with a smooth, precise gait that would seem slow and ponderous to one looking casually, but covers more ground than it properly should. Her speech is very formal and carries the mark of high education, though it occasionally diverts into a well-timed witticism. She normally makes eye contact with those she is speaking with, sometimes with an intensity that can be a little disconcerting to those she's speaking to - like she can read their minds in the slightest twitch of the face.
