After a brief teaching stint at Tel Aviv University, co-founded the consulting firm of Abarmov Moshe & Swartz, which specializes in advising chemical and advanced hazardous materials production facilities worldwide. He was married in 2003, and has four children.

Description: Standing about 5'8", Ari has thick, wavy black hair greying at the temples and brown eyes set in a piercing stare. His face is more rugged than his academic background would suggest, indicating a lot of time spent out of doors. Ari is on the thin side, but wiry thin, not malnourished. He has kept in very good shape over his lifetime, and prides himself on being able to keep up physically with the younger crowd, although he is careful to pick his spots and rest wisely. He is especially fond of hats, selecting them appropriate to the situation, but often defaulting to a well-worn New York Mets ball cap when outside of his native country. His clothing choices are hard-wearing: cargo pants and canvas or denim shirts paired with sensible hiking shoes. Even when he is lecturing, he opts for short-sleeved dress shirts and linen jackets over slacks instead of a more professorial look. He eschews ties at every possible opportunity.
