New Age of Legends
New Age of Legends is an original content superhero roleplaying game. We will draw inspiration from Marvel, DC, and other comics as well as science fiction influences with moderate deconstruction. While the setting has become fairly developed in terms of settings and characters, we encourage creativity and want people to be free to introduce groups, narrative elements, characters, etc.The action of the game is set primarily in three urban centers of the United States, New York/New Jersey, Maryland/DC and Detroit though players are free to take their play wherever suits them.
Included in the setting information are several groups. Among them are the following. A loosely formed "guild" of vigilantes communicate via the darknet to aid one another in fighting crime. S.T.R.I.P.E. (Strategic Tactical Reserve Intervention, Protection, and Enforcement) is a government agency made up of a mix of superhumans and military leaders tasked with responding to superhuman threats. Powertech, inc. is part PR firm and part police force for hire. They employ many superhumans they assign to cities around the nation as protectors... for a steep price. Cosmos Laboratories is a scientific think-tank with mysterious roots. It claims to function purely for the advancement of science, but might there be hidden motivations? Along with other lesser organized criminal organizations, there is Overgang, a criminal organization with a nearly fanatical following and some faux-religious overtones. The Metahuman Alliance is a group of metahumans who see flaws in the traditional power structures of the world and believe the answer to the world's problem is rule by metahuman. Finally, you have the Walpurgisnacht Society, a loose collection of the wealthy and powerful who get together behind high walls to have parties that start salacious rumors and make their secret plans to rule the world.
Join one of these groups or create your own team! There will be loosely organized room activities and a lot of sandbox play.
We have an optional system for conflict resolution based on the indie RPG The Pool, which has been streamlined and simplified for the purposes of easy use in online play. We call it the Droplet. It allows for some randomization and resolution of conflicts between players if people want to use it. Using dice is entirely optional.
We have rated the game adult because the GMs believe in freedom of expression. Also, in case it is not clear, this game is somewhat deconstructed. It's not the MCU or four-color comics.
