A self-proclaimed freedom fighter, Laurent Carpentier arrived in Washington, D.C. from Haiti sometime in the 50s. He's had a prickly relationship with the Invictus since his arrival, but he was able to rally the support of his Clan in order to become their Priscus. This Gangrel Carthian is a fearsome foe, yet fiercely intellectual and a politically-savvy Kindred. He does not hide his dislike of the practice of employing and keeping ghouls, advocating the stance that one can be an apex predator without the need to enslave others.

Brought over from Africa in the late 1800s as a slave to Haiti, he earned his freedom and the last name Carpentier from his former master. Many Invictus have fallen prey to his prowess, and rumor has it that their hatred for him stems from the fact that the Priscus of Clan Gangrel is capable of dissolving the Viniculum through the powers of his own blood.]
