Description:  A good-looking young man who is articulate and educated, his hair is medium length, framing a face at has been through happiness, sorrow, hatred, and fear.  His intense eyes can go from crinkled with merriment to staring daggers in a heartbeat, and his mouth can give an infectious smile or a terrifying snarl. He is slim and athletic, with a toned body, though his clothing hide the scars that give evidence to the abuse, from his father and from other youths, he suffered as a child. Though he can be patient with those he is teaching, he has little tolerance for mistakes from those who are supposed to be competent.  He is usually quite charming, but his anger brings out his slum roots in a torrent of vulgar language.
He dresses in sturdy travelling clothes that he keeps neat and tidy, preferring a clean appearance, especially in the kitchen.  He seems to always be wiping or cleaning his hands, and cleans up as he cooks.
History:  The greatgrandson of Lutida, the pariah of the Jemmson family of renowned chef, believed to be crazy enough to try to use anything as an ingredient (it is said she once tried to use a knight's old armor an ingredient), whose son, Garvin, having no talent in the kitchen at all, and being embittered by the family's ostracism of his mother, and whose grandson, Javid, went straight into crime, committing arson, robbery, rape, murder, kidnapping, and eventually becoming a notorious highwayman, and having almost nothing to do with his wife and son that did not involve abusing them.
While working in the kitchen for room and board at an inn (his mother was a "serving wench"), he showed himself to be talented as a cook.  He was eveuntually discovered by Ilandris Evenstar, elven assistant and sous chef (and long time friend and confidant) of the retired dwarven master chef, Gardom Jasperbeard, who had apprenticed many of the famous chefs of the Jemmson family.
He is the last student of the retired master chef (Clan Crafter), Gardom Jasperbeard, and a lost scion of the Jemmson family of chefs, a journeyman looking to expand his knowledge, his skill, and to make himself one of the greatest chefs in existence.
He often wears headband attached to the bottom of a small box with a crystal inside and a button-released lid.  When he opens the lid, it acts as an Everbright Lantern.  A device common amongst dwarven miners, and was a gift from his teacher.
