Lady Genevieve Lynette DeHaviland

Geneviève Lynette DeHaviland

Gender: Female   |   Age: 20
Hair: Blonde  |   Eyes: Blue   |   Sexual Prefereces: Heterosexual
Distinguishing Marks: Small Scar Inside Her Left Knee

Warning about Genevieve: She is not going to be very nice. Please do not take this personally OOC. :)

Two years older than her sister, Anyalis, Vieve stands an inch shorter at a respectable 5'6". Her complexion is milk and cream, soft and pale to go with the golden blonde of her hair and crystalline blue eyes. Vieve's features are sharp, high cheekbones angled into a defined aristocratic jaw. It is easy for her expression to tend toward austere, and for something of her eyes and perfectly arched brows to appear frequently judgemental.

Genevive is an astute young woman, and very little passes the cunning of her gaze and mind. She is an avid horsewoman, having ridden from the moment her Papa could outfit a pair of boots. It is not uncommon for her to be seen on a hunt, though she rarely shoots game herself.

Well-read, articulate, and able to speak myriad languages, she is a scion to the House of Words, though her temperament has little that could be considered warm. Vieve takes after their mother in that way, ruthless and icy behind courtesan smiles. She does not have much inclination for foolishness and wields her tongue like a razor.

She is a consummate loyalist, both to the Crown, the Duchy, and the Church. Like most of the DeHavilands before her, she was raised with the expectation of King over personal gains. A marriage just as their father and mother; arranged for the betterment of the aristocracy. This also makes Vieve extremely loyal to her personal family, all other mechanisms fall before blood. She is not looking for a marriage of love while in Rosemont, she is looking for a good match between families that will further strengthen Breiton.

⚜ Talmaison ⚜

Talmaison, which can loosely be translated as The House of Words, is a region known for its large, rolling hills. It is broken by a single prominent river and Lake Tristesse where the house seat of Coencahir lies.

The region is known as the predominant supplier of textiles within the kingdom. Their main exports are cotton, ramie, flax, and jute. A few decades ago, silk was added to their manufacturing, worms were cultivated into Breiton-owned farms that did not require import from other lands. Now that the trade routes have opened, and negotiations for the resource have been created, DeHaviland's silk trade is mainly for richer fabrics. Where raw silk comes from overseas, DeHaviland specializes in chiffons and velvets. The alternating harvests of textile fabrics and the keeping of livestock wool, allow for them to prosper regardless of seasonal changes that might otherwise impoverish another duchy.

Talmaison is also known for its particular breed of horses called the Marjên, a duchy-specialized offspring of the popular Morgan horse. They are known for their speed, versatility, temperament, and agility. The breed itself is a closed blooded-line that is not shared with neighbouring breeders.

The DeHaviland colours are white and gold, their crest features two rampant unicorns flanking a royal orb and crown with chevrons of purple and blue to represent their river valley below.

The DeHavilands' greatest strength lies in their diplomatic ties. On behalf of the crown, they have negotiated countless treaties with neighbouring empires, kingdoms, principalities and independent duchies. Their public reputation is unimpeachable, though it is whispered they have many more secret treaties of their own, which they can call on in times of need. Their textile industry generates enough wealth besides that no DeHaviland has ever wanted for funds. Although they are not known for their military might, DeHaviland chevaliers are famous throughout Breiton for their skill, bravery and chivalry - the very epitome of knightly virtue. They are, however, exceedingly expensive to train and maintain, and accordingly fewer in numbers than many of the other armed houses.
