General Appearance:


Isabella is tall and sculpted with soft curves accented with the lithe muscles of the people of the sea.  Her light olive toned skin stands in contrast with her locks of thick, dark hair that falls in soft waves around her shoulders.  Her striking rich brown eyes are framed by thick dark lashes and always accentuated with a curious somewhat playful glint.

Having been raised in the oceans of Breiton, Isaballa was raised to move lightly and when needed swiftly on deck.  She was trained, as are all the children of the sea, to protect herself and the members of her crew.  She can be swift and deadly when it is needed.  At the same time, those same muscles make her a graceful dancer being able to move her body in the most alluring ways.

Isabella has a natural confidence to her walk- when she is on a ship- that borders on haughtiness.  On land, however, she's a slower more apt to feel the lack of movement than anything else.  She has horrible land sickness and prefers to stay on ship. But even on land, she walks with long strides and her eyes are always watching.

Personality:


Isabella is the daughter of Antonio Borgaza- cousin of Duke Matías Borgaza.  Raised among six brothers, she could best them all at fighting, climbing, and words.  Aware of this, Isabella as a child has made many remarks about her brothers being lazy and in need of more lessons.  Her father, amused by her skills and antics only trained his daughter harder, warning his sons that he might break with tradition and make her Captain when he decided to retire.  This has not made her popular with her brothers.

Her father says that because of her skills Isabella was cursed by the Maker with curiosity and land-sickness to teach her temperance. From an early age, Isaballa has been fascinated by the mainland.  As a child she would try to leave the ship only to be overcome with the steadiness of the Earth.

Isabella can be outspoken, but has learned to temper her words with humor and dry wit.  Obedience is somewhat lacking in her disposition.  She seems to simmer like a fire kept on low, but a simple spark can launch a somewhat fiery temper- that explodes out of her in athletic ability.

House (Major or Minor House): Minor (I'm willing to go major or the official minor, but... for now I'm making her the cousin of Duke Matías Borgaza.  Father: Antonio Borgaza.  Isabella's mother, Bianca, lives in the mountains as far away from the sea as she can get.

About Your Character:

Isabella Dominque Borgaza it is said was born during a storm at sea.  Whether it was true or not- her father liked to say that the ship was struck by lightening and that was when she cried for the first time... and she's been a handful ever since.

Born to a father who preferred the sea to land, and a mother who apparently preferred anywhere other than being with her father and her family to the sea- Isabella was raised on the ocean.   Her mother and father were the result of a peace agreement and Bianca- now past child bearing years, has retired to a mountain villa.

This has never been a problem for Antonio- who is absolutely at his happiest when on the ocean.  He and his crew thoroughly enjoy the sea- and thus Isabella loves it as well.  She has six brothers- five older, one younger, who have trouble keeping up with their sister.  Each of the brothers are required to spend two months with their mother in the mountains.  Only Isabella is spared that, because she spends most of the time nauseous- and makes such a mess of her mother's rugs.

Isabella loves heights and prefers to sleep in the crow's nest where the sway of the ocean is at its highest.  She has been trained, like all of her brothers and the crew to defend the King's waters from pirates and to maintain trade.  She could care less about the latter but enjoys a good scrap.  She's a fearsome fighter, better with a cutlass and a knife.  Excluding that she has a mean right hook.


Her mother, in reconciliation for her absence in Isabella's upbringing, gave her to her father's sister- Katerina to raise.   The woman while as fearsome as her brother has managed to teach Isabella how to behave at court.  She did fairly well when presented to the King, right up until she had to use a vase because of her malady.  The King was in good humor about it, but the incident has left Isabella mortified and her brothers have never let her forget about it.

Because of this, she rarely leaves the ship for courting or anything else.  When her father received the invitation from the King- Isabella climbed up into the crows nest and refused to come down- thus her late arrival at the festivities.  Unsure about why the King would ever want "The Lady of the quavering stomach" at his gathering, Isabella has managed to get to Rosemont with a hefty amount of ginger to keep her stomach settled- she's here.
