Battletech: Mercenaries - Money & Pride
The in-game year is 3013. The Freedom 900 Hover Jeep has just been released. The starting location is Galatea, the Mercenary Star, pre-eminent hiring house of the Inner Sphere.All of you are mercenaries looking for work. You have a BattleMech - you can say that much, at least - but what you don't have is a steady paycheck. Thankfully, last night you received word that none other than the legendary Romeo Hao of the Blue Crow Company - recruitment master, battle leader, and rumored greatest lover of the Inner Sphere (depending, of course, on who you ask) - was holding a hiring meet-and-greet at Beer & Loathing today. It wasn't the best bar in Galatea City, by any stretch, but at least it wouldn't stretch your pocketbook to hang out for a few hours, right? They serve beer, and even though it might not be as good as what you're used to, it's close.
Who is the Blue Crow Company, you ask? Good question. No one seems to know much of anything, except that they're in the market for mercs. Certainly, there's enough scuttlebutt about their hiring push going around on Galatea that you assume they must be somebody...but you're not exactly sure precisely what *kind* of somebody. Or perhaps they're a nobody, maybe looking to become somebody, but they're a nobody that's offering a paycheck and position that you desperately need.
