Tig

Tig is about 16 or 17 years old from the looks of it. She has got dirt on her face and her long almost black hair is uncombed. She is wearing a tattered and dirty cloak over her even dirtier leather armour, which seems to be almost falling apart. Under the cloak one can see a rapier peeking out adjacent to a hand crossbow. 2 small quivers for bolts create a small bulge under the cloak. While her face is somewhat pretty, she still manages to remain rather nondescript and not a person you would really notice if you passed her.

As a person she is very loyal to her group, and she expects the same from them. If someone isn't there for one of the group, then they are not a part of the group. She doesn't say much and is never the one to take over in a conversation or dominate in a group. She spends a lot of time cleaning her necklace and maintaining her hand crossbow.
She doesn't have any particular favourite god. The gods never did anything for her group, and thus none of the gods are a part of her group.

Tig has been living in the slums of Meheath since she was a toddler. As can be expected such slums were a very unsafe place for children of any age, but Tig had some good fortune, and was taken in by a group of children led by a young woman named Leena. Leena had taken it upon herself to protect and feed some of the most exposed children living in the slums. It was a rag-tag group of children of various races and ages. Unlike most other groups children in the slums, Tig's group wasn't a criminal gang as such. Sure they were stealing whatever wasn't nailed down so they didn't starve to death, but they weren't a part of any organized crime, and only sorted to violence when they themselves were attacked. Unfortunately in the rough streets of Meheath, attacks by gangs were not uncommon, and Tig lost more than one friend that way.

According to Leena, Tig got her name, because that is the only sound she would make when she was taken in by the group: Tig-tig-tig-tig-tig-tig, while rocking steadily back and forth with an empty look in her eyes. As time passed Tig exchanged this behavior with an absolute dependency on Leena. She would refuse leave her side or even let go of her clothes. So when Leena had to leave to get more food for the group (a daily occurrence), Tig would cry until Leena got back.

The older in the group got tired of listening to Tig and forced her to shut up. Eventually Tig's dependency lessened, but she remained highly emotionally attached to Leena. When Tig was about 12, once again a gang had forced the group out of another area they had resided in, and they moved to halfway live in the sewers. Food got scarce and the group was starving, with some of the younger getting close to dying. Some members had grown so old, that Leena decided she could leave leadership to one of the older boys, a tiefling called Menkos. Leena decided to try her luck outside of the city, "adventuring". Tig was devastated, but Leena kept coming back at least once per month, and left a lot of food and even some money. During this time the group saw great progress. They were well fed and even got armed. Leena got Tig a steel necklace with a small pendant along with a hand crossbow. Tig would zealously polish that necklace and practise with the crossbow every day.

One day Leena stayed for a bit longer, and led the group back into an area of the city where it would be easier to get food and shelter. As expected they were attacked by the local gang, but Leena had become very competent with her weapons, and helped by the armed members of the group, they managed to hold off the gang. For about half a year the group got to stay in this section of Meheath, but then Leena stopped returning. Apparently the local gang noticed this, and made an all out attack on the group. Many of the group died either during the assault or later from their wounds.

As the group found themselves in the sewers once again, they looked to Tig for leadership. For over two years Tig has now been the one responsible for the group. She has led led them and guided them on how to beg, steal and lie to get food. All that time she had been hoping that Leena would return, but she never did. And now Tig has decided it is her time to go "adventuring". She is not entirely sure what that entails, other than having to leave the city and come back to the group with food and money. So she has left the group in the hands of the gnome Zap. He is a a bit young (perhaps 13) and a lousy fighter. But he is very intelligent and an amazing thief, that makes great plans, and can get in anywhere and steal food. Tig couldn't think of a better leader.

So Tig has donned her leather armour and tattered cloak, is carrying her rapier and hand crossbow, and has ventured into the part of Meheath where she has heard "adventurers" come. This "adventuring" better be worth it. She has many mouths to feed.
