Kriss looks human enough at first glance, but a closer inspection quickly reveals that something is fundamentally wrong. It takes a while to work out exactly what, for it is difficult to notice something for its absence rather than its presence. So easy to get distracted by what's present, what's there. She's short, sleight, and mousey, her dark hair falling just past her chin. Though her eyes are a remarkable shade of grey, it isn't those either that are so disquieting.

It's that she doesn't breath.
