This game is set in and around the Caribbean in the year 1630 AD.While the Thirty Years´ War is in full swing on the far side of the Atlantic, things are going on more or less as usual in the Americas - Spain is busy establishing its empire and exploiting the riches of the land, while everyone else is busy establishing a foothold in the kinds of places Spain has so far overlooked, and trying by various mostly illegal means to grab some of the wealth of Spanish America for themselves. The indigenous population and the Africans brought to the Americas as slaves, meanwhile, are mostly just trying to survive.
The player characters will sail the Caribbean in pursuit of fame, fortune and all the grand adventures the New World has to offer, while hopefully avoiding the many causes of an unfortunate early demise that the New World also has to offer.
