Travis Gibson

Name: Travis Gibson
Alias: Gigawatt
Gender: Male
Team: Freelance Mutant

Description: Travis is about 5'11" and 175 pounds of lean, tight muscle. He has light skin, blond hair kept short and gelled and angular green eyes and sharp features. His usual attire consists of a short sleeve black spandex shirt that fits snuggly to him while being stretchy enough to allow for some weight gain or less, a shiny thick jungle green vinyl jacket and a pair of loose-fitting night camouflaged canvas pants belt up by a silver studded belt. On his feet are a pair of steel-toed dark gray workbooks.

Powers:
Electricity to Body Mass Conversion - Travis's body automatically absorbs all electricity that comes into contact with him and converts it to body mass at the rate of 3.5 kilowatt hours per pound of flesh. His body prioritizes healing first and then adding muscle mass. He can only absorb a set amount of electricity at a single time with any excess with his body "vomiting" any excess in a random direction around himself. He can probably absorb all the power feeding into a building and causing it to black out for at least a few minutes or feed on a city powerline, but if he gets hit with a lightning bolt he will not instantly gain 72 pounds of muscle in a split second and instead will just radiate most of that electricity around himself. It is unknown if there is a limit to how big he could get if he kept feeding on electricity as he will start gaining height as well as weight if he keeps feeding. However he prefers to stay around 5'11" and about 175 pounds because well-- otherwise his clothes don't fit anymore and it can be difficult to get around.

Body Mass to Electricity Conversion - Travis can generate electricity from his body by turning his body mass into electricity. His body converts fat first until his body fat content drops below 5% and then starts converting muscle and then height causing him to shrink. He can convert his flesh into electricity at the rate of 3.5 kilowatt hours per pound of flesh. He can harness this electricity to power AC or DC devices, recharge rechargeable batteries (but only at the rate they are designed to be recharged at) or weaponize the electricity as attacks that can range from having effects as harmless as a joybuzzer to lethal. He can't really exceed the output one would get from a city powerline.

History: Travis Gibson was the child of one of those mothers who wants to see their child become a big movie star and so had him trained to play the guitar, take acting lessons, singing lessons and sent him to auditions from when he was a small child. He ended up landing the role in a couple commercials before getting a role on a TV show shot in Orlando called "Silver Lining".

"Silver Lining" about a girl named Sarah attending a middle school with her quirky best friend Melissa. Sarah would come up with schemes for becoming more popular or getting the attention of the popular boys in school. Travis played a comedic character named Donnie who was Sarah's neighbor and constant annoyance who would constantly try unsuccessfully to flirt with Sarah or ask her out and also had a habit of causing mischief or accidents and denying it with the line "It wasn't me!" The show ran for about 4 years before finally getting axed.

After the show was axed, there was an attempt to turn him into a rock-adjacent pop star. His first single sold decently, particularly to fans of the show, but was by no means a number one hit. The follow up single did even worse. His big rock career was then killed dead when an accident with electrical equipment happened on stage causing him to use his mutant powers publicly when he was shocked enough that he would have been electrocuted but redirected the shock which caused his manager who had come out on stage to get shocked instead.

After being fired from his label, he moved to California and joined the music scene there. With the money from his acting and performing days, he was able to more or less live comfortably without having to get a real job and joined one band after another playing in small venues and generally rarely even breaking even doing so. He lives in an apartment with the drummer of his band, Roberto and their bass guitar/singer Miku  Travis pays the rent for the apartment for the three of them despite being the youngest of the three by several years.

His younger brother, Dallas, ended up moving to live with their grandparents. He ended up developing shadow powers about a year later, causing their grandfather to have a heart-attack (he survived) then enrolling as a student in Xavier's school.

Important NPCs:

Dallas Gibson - A student at Xavier's school who can't seem to remain on any training squad for any length of time. He has shadow powers and goes by the codename "Spectre". He is friends with Hellion but left the Hellions squad for unknown reasons before becoming a Paragon and then a Corsiar.

Roberto Garcia - The drummer for their band "Vital Chaos". He is from Southern California and in his late 20s. In high school part of a band called "Metal Eternity" but quit when he was 20 to go to college. The band then went on to become extremely famous within the metal scene and have toured the world. Trying to capture some of that glory by putting together another band out of talented young people he could gather. Although "Vital Chaos" does mostly cover songs, Roberto writes most of their original material himself.

Miku Tsugunaga - Miku is the bassist and female vocalist of "Vital Chaos". At only 150cm tall and weighing less than 100 pounds, Miku is so tiny and looks and dresses so young that she often gets mistaken as a young teen despite already being 25. She often wears he hair in a twin tails style with a large bow on top and wears extremely short skirts. She was a former J-pop idol, having been recruited into a group when she was 12 years old. Her group put out many singles, she traveled around his country and she appeared on several TV shows. She has even appeared in many magazines with risque bikini and lingerie gravure pictures. She graduated the group when she was 22 and her label tried to put together a rock group for her, but the sales were low enough that it was considered a failure within two years. After she was told that the group would end, she decided to quit the label and move to America where she hoped she can have the career she couldn't have in Japan. Although her English isn't very good-- particular because she never went to high school in order to devote her full time to her idol group.
