Petite, blonde, and blue-eyed, Marlene looks a bit younger than her 26 years, having something of the look of a lost child about her.  Her clothing, once fashionable and fairly expensive, is now old and faded, though she does her best to be presentable, at least.  Something about the way she walks and carries herself hints at a ladylike upbringing, and her speech marks her out as someone who was well-educated.  These days, though, it's difficult for her to look anyone in the eye.
