In a hell like Technochitlan, everyone chases euphoria. Fewer embrace ekstasis, the divine madness. And when you are reduced to a pleasure others chase, it becomes an enticing option.
Euphoria was born wild and never tamed. She is a blood diamond plucked from the streets by the Olympians, a trophy of their countless gang wars. When her small gang of Amazons fell to them, Euphoria offered herself as a political token and was made a dancer for their amusement. She seduced the Matriarch and slayed her enemies, becoming one of her courtesans, then her knight. Euphoria's loyalty, however, has always been self-preservation. She is but one opportunity away from breaking her chains, and the Olympians knew it. Lieutenants and advisors see her as nothing but a feral dog who shits on the floor and tears up the furniture with her reckless antics. The one person who keeps her in check is the Matriarch herself. So long as their mistress is entertained by her precious knight, they're stuck with her.
Euphoria never cared who she fought for, just that she fought. Dueling is her greatest pleasure, an addiction greater than any drug or soft bosom the cult can offer her. Maybe it's in the name of self-destruction, but no one has struck her down yet. And so her existence carries on as more and more warriors fall to her blade, and fewer remain to challenge her. Not unless she sets her sights higher, to the throne of her mistress or the Gods above. Resentment for the powers at be and an ache for freedom have long festered in her soul. It was only a question of when she'd finally snap and turn her fury upon the world. Then her opportunity came - she was cursed by the Red Prince to wield the Sword of the Apocolypse.
Now the bloody knight had a worthy quest: slay the gods or die trying.
