Omega Colony
Space! It used to be the final frontier.
It all speared forward after the invention of the QParSE engine system which could cause a ship to leap through space faster than the speed of light.
Over the eons we explored all the strange new worlds and claimed them as our own, quickly adapting to all range of environments through augmentation and genetic manipulation. As we grew farther apart as humanoidal beings, this often erupted into planetary, stellar, and even galactic wars. Despite the conflicts, the vastness of space allowed us to multiply to seemingly infinite numbers and points off view.
To simplify all the confusion, the peoples of the universe were cataloged into viewpoint types such as There were those who argued there is "A World For Every Type." They came to be known as the AWFET Peacemakers. In time they dedicating millions of worlds to peaceful planetary assignment. However, greedy human nature forced war on these peacekeeper's planets, diminishing there numbers to assumed extinction.
Not long after, an insidious cataclysm poisoned the Universe we all coveted! The worlds of the universe were consumed by an unseen cancer which came to be called the Affliction. Now the Affliction rapidly is turning all planets into a waterless wasteland. We barely had enough time to make the exodus to space. Unfathomable numbers of lives were lost and our numbers were again in the mere trillions.
When your own world suffered this fate, you became stranded on one of the many surrogate colony ships that have become a new way of life for all humanoids.
From here, you decide what fate brings you aboard the Nova Colony.
Perhaps your first colony ship was Nova Colony. If so, you would be among the more fortunate. For Nova Colony is one of the only known peaceful ships in the Universe where all passengers are considered "free".
Otherwise, it is likely you were made a slave or were otherwise subjugated on a less than ideal floating colony, a warship, or even recruited for a garbage scow.
If so, you were not there forever. Perhaps you rose up against oppressors by marrying a colonelship privileged officer, or survived as a spacerat hiding in the bulkheads, or by blind devoted obedience.
Whatever your start in space, you eventually found your way to Nova Colony. Whether you were rescued, migrated to, or snuck onto Nova Colony, you have boarded one of the most well known and largest space fairing ships of your time!
Currently home to more than 40,000 refugees, Nova Colony is on a science mission to learn what caused the Affliction and most importantly, how to reverse it.
As entire worlds inexplicably and incurably decay around you, will you do your part to find the cure aboard perhaps the only ship in existence equipped to succeed?
... Or is humanity yet destined for it's extinction?
This game uses a C&E Controlled Free-style game play. Basically, anything goes as long as you follow these few rules:
- Keep your Causes or Effects cannon believable. Stay true to the Cannon described in the wiki.
- Never describe how a cause effects a character that does not belong to you.
I will describe these rules with more detail soon, but it is pretty much as simple as that.
