Beth McFarland

Beth McFarland is the Office Manager of Hunter: Weaponsmith.  She also manages inventory and is the bookkeeper.

Beth stand 5'5" tall and weighs a solid 128 pounds with measurements of 38D-27-36.  She is slightly larger than she was when she entered the army 20 years ago at 18.

Beth spent almost 15 years in the United States Army In Supply.  She was excellent at her job and rose to the rank of Master Sergeant..  Unfortunately, while on deployment, an IED detonated under a truck she was riding in, severely injuring her.  As a result, her right leg was amputated below the knee by the explosion.  Quick reactions by the medic in the next truck saved her life.  After stabilization, she was transferred to Germany and then back to Walter Reed Hospital.  Her damaged stump was trimmed and began the healing process.  She was fitted with a prosthetic leg and, after some training in using it, medically discharged at full military combat-related disability.  That gave her a pension for the rest of her life, such as it was.  Though she was physically healthy, having her chosen career yanked from her was mentally unsettling.

She was unemployed and drifting through life when she stopped at a community college to check on classes to occupy her time.  Sometimes karma is on your side for that day she saw an attractive young man demonstrating blacksmithing to a group of students.  After the class, she talked to the young man, "Hunter Smith", he said his name was.  Either he didn't notice that she was an amputee, quite unlikely, or it did not matter because it did not seem to make a difference to him that she was only half a woman.

As they were talking, he invited her to lunch.  She accepted, thinking that she could afford a fast food burger.  She was shocked when he suggested that she ride with him to the restaurant.  That trip was her first time in an Aston Martin.  She started to protest that she couldn't afford to eat at the restaurant he parked at.  Even though she was almost completely lesbian, she got wet when he smiled at her and said "I can."  She had a burger that was the best burger she had ever eaten.  Surprisingly she agreed when he said "Leave your car.  I'll have it moved."  He pulled out his phone and took a snapshot of it with the license plate showing.

He drove to a construction site, no a remodeling site of an old school.  He parked inside the last door of a metal, pole barn-like, building and escorted her inside.  It was a shop full of equipment and employees working with that equipment.  "Welcome to the temporary home of Hunter: Weaponsmith." He guided her through the building to what looked like the back door at the end of a short hall.  There were doors on each side.  He opened one and ushered her into a much nicer apartment than she expected.  They began talking freely.  Almost before she realized it, she had been hired to manage at least part of his company.  That hiring was the best thing that had ever happened to her in her entire life. She had a purpose and a future once again.
