Description/Appearance: Anaras is a weathered, diminutive figure.  He has a ruddy complexion, and light sandy brown hair. His appearance is much like that of a small child with slightly pointed ears, yet he is much older. His eyes are hazel, his hair straight with braids. He wears simple clothing of a shirt, knee-britches and high soft boots. His clothing is usually very colorful, except for his hooded cloak, which is a worn serviceable tan in tone.

Background: Anaras Kell was born in a small cottage on the Nesser River in the Celadon Forest located in the Barony of Woodwych.  On a dark stormy night, his small home was raided by orcs.  His parents were slain and he managed to escape purely by knowing the lay of the wood around him.  He knew every stream, rill, bank, and ridge in a five mile radius of the cottage.  With his home burned to the ground and with only the clothes he was wearing at the time, the young halfling made his way to the city of Nellix where he survived by learning skills of deception and sleight of hand in the streets while also working as a teamster. After many years in Nellix, the small thieves guild he was associated with fell into some trouble with a competitor guild.  His guild was overthrown in the ensuing guild war and Anaras had to find another home.  It was then he decided to seek out a purported uncle, a brother to his mother, in the city of Narwell in the Wild Plains.

Characterization: Aloof is probably the best descriptor for Anaras. He’s talented and dependable; he just doesn’t want to socialize. Chit chat on the long road trip? Not happening. Split the cost of a room? He’ll get his own, thank you. A mug of ale to celebrate? Ummm, No thanks. He’s not rude—not intentionally, anyway. He’d just rather keep things professional, that’s all. It’s worked out better for him that way. "No need to be sad.", he thinks. "You’ll make another friend."
