Where were you when the the end began?It was late spring of 2022 when the unthinkable happened: the bodies of the recently deceased began to rise.
No one could say where it started or what caused it. Early reports seemed to hint at an origin somewhere in the major cities along the eastern seaboard of the US but no one could pinpoint exactly where. Determining a cause was just as problematic, especially when initial symptoms mirrored those of the flu or common cold. Once things really started to escalate, rumors started to abound tanging from radiation from space to chemical spills to terrorism.
Many of those not infected tried to band together for protection, hunkering down in homes or retreating to emergency shelters. They stockpiled food and supplies, they reached out to one another to offer support. Others decided to take advantage of the chaos, seeing the thinly stretched and quickly dwindling supply of police and military as a call to loot and riot, reveling in their more primal natures.
Still others straddled the line. They collected friends and family, they stockpiled supplies and weapons. They fortified their little slices of heaven and warned all outsiders to stay away as they hunkered down, seeking to weather out the coming storm.
Which were you? A simple survivor trying to make it day to day? An agent of chaos thriving in the turmoil carnage that seethed around them? A hunkered down prepper who stood stalwart and ready as the winds of change blew?
Or just someone who was hopeful for a brighter tomorrow?
The Dead Will Walk The Earth is a semi-free form game stressing co-operative writing and world building. While we will be using a 'lite' version of Eden Games' All Flesh Must Be Eaten. These rules will primarily be used for comparative purposes and to occasionally add a little chaos and randomness to high-tension, dramatic moments. For the most part, the results of actions will be handled cooperatively between the GM and players.
Don't know the rules? Don't worry! Writing and storytelling are FAR more important than character builds. The GM will work with anyone interested in joining to help ensure they not only get to play the character they are looking to play, but get to explore this brave (and terrifying) new world!
Please Note: This is an 'Adult' rated game for all the same reasons that a movie would be rated 'R': Violence, Gore, Language, etc. so on and so forth. All RPOL rules and guidelines will be followed.
This is going to be a moderately to fast paced game - unforeseen circumstances aside, the GM will be able to post multiple times per week. This does NOT mean every post will be to drive the story forward. Nor does it mean that players will be expected to post every day.
