Welcome to Aethos: Domain of the Keeper, where the power of the afterlife is in your hands.Aethos is a world of wonders, where portals to other realms open up spontaneously and strange creatures roam the land.
Once a place where the lost souls of those departed could continue their existence Aethos and it's creator, The Keeper of Souls, ascended to something greater than it once was in part because of the Soulstone wielded by the Keeper. The Keeper of Souls once was a guiding force, shepherding souls to their final resting places, but not every soul wished to find a resting place. Rather than doling out punishment the Keeper borrowed from other realities in order to create a place for their charges to continue living out their lives. As time passed the lives lived here had just as much substance as those lived elsewhere and soon new souls were born into existence. Not just passers through, these souls, these people, came to be the first natives of Aethos. Thousands of years later the land is populated by descendants of the first ancestors of Aethos and newly arrived souls alike.
As adventurers in Aethos, whether native to the plane or a soul whose death lead you here, you will explore this world as both living beings and spirits, seeking to understand the mysteries of this not-quite-afterlife and the power that the Keeper wields.
