Matteo di Brunatti, of the Milanese di Brunatti, is a huge presence, in every possible way.  Towering, rotund, russet haired, with a magnificent beard, his booming voice carries widely, whether his audience cares to listen or not.  The somewhat estranged scion of a wealthy trading family, a closer examination reveals a man fallen on harder times than, perhaps, he is used.  His robes are of good, fine wool, but faded and worn, as if he is forced to make them last longer than intended.

Affable, irascible, an inveterate gossip, Matteo has a lust for life made plain in every inch of his rather corpulent form - and there are so many, many inches to choose from.
