Amara Zhaan

Name: Amara Zhaan
Race: Human, Suel
Class: Apocalypse Oracle (Wrecker curse)
Gender: Female
Ht 5’7”
Wt 125 lbs.
Hair: Red
Eyes: Blue

Distinguishing Feature: Massive birthmark covers her back and part of her right side, identical to Tharizdun’s unholy symbol.

Brief Description: Amara is a lanky ginger woman in her mid twenties. Her hair is unkempt, her clothes rarely flashy, and she doesn't adorn herself with jewels or makeup -- Amara has an intensity that needs no such accouterments. She rarely wields weapons or tools of any kind -- everything she touches turns to ruin.

Personality: Amara is an intense woman in anything that she does. When amused she laughs like a madwoman, when angry she rages like the Apocalypse unleashed, and when she’s sad she seethes against those who upset her. Amara’s intensity and natural charisma makes it easy for her to draw a crowd... Underneath it all she is still a person,

Brief History: Amara Zhaan came from the Tilvanot Peninsula in the southeastern Flanaess, born into a cult of Tharizdun living in secret. Bearing the massive birthmark of their deity, hers was an auspicious birth -- and she was raised to want for nothing within their hidden camps and temples. She was told her mother died in childbirth and that there had been no father -- the cult assured her the ‘father’ was the essence and influence of the Anathema, himself. Amara had her doubts; yet the power she manifested, and her curse, were quite real.

As Amara came of age she found out the truth -- she’d been born to mere merchants, and abducted. Lies unraveled, but her connection to Tharizdun couldn’t be denied. Amara adopted the last name of her real family, and left to raise a cult of her own -- in a place where Tharizdun’s influence was needed the most.

What Crime Did you Commit: Heresy.
She’s committed many of the crimes on the list, including the desecrations of minor temples to Mitra, blasphemy by open worship of Tharizdun, and heresy for attempts to convert others to Tharizdun worship and to start a cult of Tharizdun in the past.

How did you try to pull it off?
More recently, Amara did gather a following to the Anathema. She took a new approach, preaching to the beauty in decay and entropy, and romanticizing nihilism to draw larger crowds to secretive meetings after dark.

How did you get caught?
Preaching to beggars and common folk only brought trouble once in a while. When her flock grew to include the young and impressionable children of a few nobles, merchants, and guards, one of her ‘gatherings’ was raided by Sir Balin of Karfeld.
