Dawn of the Golden Age
Premise: A little over a year ago, the first superheroes began to emerge. The initial reports that documented these living miracles were at first met with scorn and skepticism. Yet now the world is on the brink of disaster. A powerful foe has appeared, an existential threat too great for any one hero to defeat.Earth's greatest heroes must band together to face this threat together, young and inexperience though they may be, and time is not on their side. And yet the crucible of this titanic battle is where miracles can be born. The golden age of heroes may yet come from the ashes of this cataclysm.
Notes: This game is about a group of burgeoning teen superheroes, the first of their kind in the entire world and in all of human history. In many ways, these heroes began their careers at the smaller local street level, much like Spider-Man and Ms. Marvel. However, as the game begins, they will be thrust into a world-wide cataclysm-level threat. Expect things to grow beyond into truly weird and otherworldly storylines.
The title golden age does not refer to the comic book ages, but is supposed to call to mind the original term, chryseon genos, or an age where great deeds and miracles are done, a dawning new age of costumed adventurers.
System: I am more interested in characters and story than in system mechanics. As such, while this game uses a home-brewed system, the fiction will often triumph over mechanics. I will always go the path that makes for a better story.
