In general, it was a time of relative peace. The Kingdom of Balidor has seemingly curbed its expansionist desires of the past. While it is going through some of the growing pains and civil unrest of change as the old guard and the new guard of nobles clash politically over the reforms and progressive nature of the newest King, it has continued to leave the rest of the world to their own devices. The Solazza Empire has perhaps quietly been testing their borders, but aside from their missionaries spreading the word of their god remain as they always have. The Prigor Tribal Nation have seemed content to keep to the hills and plains they usually frequent through the seasons. The ships of Ieniss maintain their timely rounds keeping trade steady between all. All told, the people of the world seemed to have little to worry about beyond their daily lives.

That sense of calm is perhaps the reason that talk and rumors have spread so fast of the rains from two days past. Perhaps you saw them yourself. Perhaps you were even caught out in the deluge. The rain wasn't everywhere, but scattered here and there across the continent. What would make talk and rumor of rain spread so fast you might ask, if you did not see it for yourself? Who wouldn't talk about rain as black as ink and thick as blood?

What could such a dark and widespread and random rain mean? Just a strange thing to chatter about idly? Or an omen of ill tidings to come? What do you make of the black rain as you settle in to the common room of a roadside inn and here the whispered gossip about it from the other tables?



This is a zombie apocalypse game set in a low magic homebrew setting and using some gritty realism rules. The game begins at the very beginning of the event and will progress in stages and arcs with time skips when they seem appropriate. It is a pseudo-sandbox game. There are stories and a larger plot out there to engage with if players want to, or if the group decides you can just do your own thing.

I've built up a decent chunk of the world, but there is still room to establish a couple more kingdoms. I didn't account for the whole map with the ones I already made. So, if you have ideas for one that you think would fit in, let me know.
