To the eye, Deshnah is nothing remarkable. Of medium stature with long, thickly braided hair, the only curiosity is the contrast between his calloused, deeply tanned, almost leathery skin and the apparent youth of his keen and probing eyes. To the ear, Deshnah is obviously foreign and low born, a tribesman perhaps. To the heart, Deshnah is an enigma: without guile, but slippery nonetheless--like a moss covered boulder, solid under the crystal fast torrent of a mountain stream.
